Together Again...

Although I am deeply saddened by the passing of our Prophet, I can't help but feel immense joy that he is re-united with his beautiful wife. President Hinckley was an amazing man who helped me in so many ways which words cannot describe. His talks were so blunt, clear, honest, and true. He helped me pass through many trials and tribulations. Although I never met him personally, I felt as if he was a grandpa to me, someone I truly admired and loved. He will be sorely missed. WE LOVE YOU PRESIDENT HINCKLEY!

So sick of being sick!

So I am home again today (it's Saturday... Yipee) and I'm once again laying on the couch, wanting to die. I missed two days of work this week. I've had the sore throat, icky stomach, head cold for over a week now and I am so TIRED of it! Why is it, that I never get sick, but when I do, it decides to be my best friend and stick around for way too long! Uh, I'm hoping that three days of rest (I have Monday off work) will do the trick!

On another note... Hayden and Lola got into a little argument. I will be posting pics soon. Now, I'm telling you this in hopes that you won't blame Lola, because really it's not her fault. As some of you know... she is a princess with a capital P and has... well, somewhat of an attitude. It's actually one of the many things that Hayden and I adore about her. She is spunky and we like it. She's not a lame dog that just sits around and is boring. She loves to play, wrestle, and sometimes... she is a little feisty. But, she's never been aggressive. Once in a while, she snips when she isn't happy with you, but it's more like a friendly punch in the arm and not an actual sock in the face if you get my drift. Well, Hayden was laying on the couch and she was sleeping on the floor. Hayd wanted to cuddle so he picked her up, and she didn't like being disturbed while sleeping (just like her mother! My parents used to say they would have to wear a football helmet to come and wake me up). So, she growled a little, like she usually does, and then she snipped. Now, if she would have caught his hand or arm... I don't think it would have even left a mark... but she caught one of he plump full lips. The top left to be exact; and needless to say, we were in the ER getting 5 stitches. BUMMER! We were so distraught and couldn't figure it out. She has never been aggressive like that. So we decided it was high time we taught her who was boss. Now, rep remanding her has been harder on us than her but, we've read all about dominant dogs... and every personality trait listed is part of Lola's personality. We can't be mad at her because we let her run this house. So we've set up new rules... such as no sleeping on our bed anymore (it's terrible! We miss her being up there with us and coming to lick us on the cheek in the morning when she needs to pee!). We also make her sit and stay before we play with her. She has to follow us when we walk through a door instead of running ahead and being in charge... and those are just a few of the changes. Remarkably, we've seen a drastic difference. She is very submissive and has been acting a lot better.

Wow, I just realized how much I wrote about our dog. Yes, I will be the first to admit that she is like our child. But, we must admit that we just love her. So sorry for all you non-animal lovers reading this blog. But for those that understand our level of doggy-love... can you believe it? What else can we do? Any advice?
Hayden got his stitches out yesterday and it looks great. You can barely see anything. He has had such a HARD time rep remanding her. I pray that he will be stronger with our kids (especially if we have any daughters) or the discipline is going to be a one woman show I have a feeling!!! Oh- she is preparing us so well for parenthood. That's all I have for now. I will post the pics soon!

A New Year....

Well, Hello! It's been forever my dear blogger friends. Sorry for the delay. I think Christmas caught up to me. Oh... and what a Christmas it was! Four days chuck full of Lola-ness, THREE adorable nieces, parents, siblings, a newly-returned brother, grandparents, hugs, kisses, chocolate, and diet coke. What more could I ask for? NOTHING!

By the way... Niece number 4 is on her way! Daine and Steph are having a BABY GIRL! Although the new momma-to-be, grandma Jacki, and Kelly were jumping for joy... the boys were a little hesitant. Girls scare them, I think. I can't wait for this little miracle to come along and MELT our hearts. We are SO excited! Thanks to this little baby is in order. She decided to ease up on her mama. Steph is feeling a lot better.

New Years was great! Just chillin' in Syracuse with our family... one of the best places in the world. It could've only been better if we had seen ALL our family. But, let me tell you, those little girls offer some great entertainment. Who needs Dick Clark when you have them? Raegan is growing tremendously. Her new born clothes are actually fitting and her face is filling out quite nicely. She is soft, sweet, precious, and has the cutest button nose. I hold her for hours and stare at her and wonder what her personality will be like. I wonder what funny things she will say. I wonder how she will interact with her big sisters. She just makes me so curious. It's so fun to watch them grow. Raegan makes Lauren and Paityn look GINORMOUS! I can't believe how quickly they grow.

The Day after Christmas, Brooks had surgery on his wrist. A freak accident pre-mission has made for a miserable post-mission. Something about a cow throwing its head, and Brooks being in the wrong place and the wrong time (classic Brooks). But his hand has been causing some serious pain and the bone which was cracked lost its blood supply and died. The surgery went really well and the Doctors are hopeful it will heal nicely. Hayden has taken him on as his own patient. Twice-daily check ins, prescription updates, and dose frequencies are always the topic of conversation. And poor Brooks can't sit still to save his life. He is getting a mega-cast Friday that will hopefully prevent him from getting too crazy while he heals. He is moving to ST. George this coming weekend to continue school at Dixie.

Hayden and I have some exciting news, as most of you already know, we are buying a FARM! Hay and all. We've talked about this the last little while, but have kept it on the down-low (although our parents talk about it more then we do... the entire county already knows about it) but I just can't help myself anymore and I must post this information! We are SO EXCITED for this new adventure. Hayden is going to start working for Dr. Gagon in Price in September and this farm was a dream come true for us. It's located in Cleveland, Utah. As you can see on the map, its in the middle on no where. JUST RIGHT FOR US!!!!! It even comes with a bright red tractor ("That's a nnnnniiicceeee piece of machinery" my dad exclaimed) in which I am excited to learn to drive. Anyway, its 88 acres and has a very cute, cozy, and loving home. We are currently purchasing odds and ends for our renovation. Not a huge renovation, just cosmetic issues. We are loving the idea of having a home and kissing The Palladio Apartments goodbye. But, we will definitely miss our Salt Lake City. It will be a VERY fond memory forever. We will keep you posted.

As I look onward to 2008... there are so many things I'm looking forward to. The farm, Hayden's graduation, and our trip to Thailand. But one thing, which we hope for the very most, is a baby. Thank you to all our family and friends who have been praying for a miracle. We appreciate it more than you will EVER KNOW. I'm looking into this next year in hope that this dream will come true. And if not, we hope to open our arms to a baby who needs a mommy and daddy which I know we could love as our very own. We would be truly grateful for either. So with this thought, I sign off, Happy New Years to all, we love you, pray for you, and wish you every happiness in the world.
