STELLAR NEWS!!!!!

We got THE BEST NEWS today!!! Ollie's cancer only traveled to one lymph node. When she had surgery on Monday they did a Mastectomy and removed 7 lymph nodes. Today, she met with the Dr. and received the GREAT news that the cancer hadn't traveled any further! She still has to meet with her Oncologist next week to discuss in detail treatment plans if any. THIS IS ONE OF THE HAPPIEST DAYS OF MY LIFE! Yippee!! I am so proud of Ollie's lymph nodes! Way to go dudes!

My Ollie

This blog is like my journal. Sometimes, it might contain some very personal things. This post is one of my very personal posts.

On Friday night, I was told the devastating news that my dear, sweet, spunky Grandma Ollie (Olive) has breast cancer. My world caved in. Everything got a little dim, fuzzy, confusing, and a rush of emotion came over. Extreme pain, fear, anxiety, sadness, and heartbreak to the point where I forgot to breath. How could this happen? Ollie is not like any other grandma, our family cannot keep up with her. Ollie's daily routine might consist of some water aerobics, a game of bridge with her girlfriends, volunteering, 9 holes of golf, playing the piano, reading, knitting, and telling you just how it is. She loves with her whole heart and soul but isn't afraid to tell you if you're being dumb. I love her so much for that. She's been to every dance recital, every school play, every graduation, every wedding, every birth, every blessing, and almost every single holiday. But she's also there on the tiniest events, which is the time I enjoy the most with her. A day of shopping, some lunch, or just an evening visit. She makes me laugh, cry, and feel extreme love and admiration for her. She's lost so much in her life. Her husband, her son, and many dear sweet friends in her life. But it never deters her to keep loving with all her heart. Ollie is so sassy and spunky and is more like a dear mother than a grandma. Her whole life is wrapped up in her family and you can feel how much she loves you by just sitting with her. Not one word would have to be exchanged (although this would never happen because she loves to chat) and you would know the deep love this woman has for you.

I just wanted to express some feelings of my dear Grandma and hope that some therapy and calmness will come over my soul. I'm praying so hard for her to fight this wretched disease because my baby, my family, and my heart needs her. My life would be so sad without her. Ollie, you will never read this, but I want you to know that you are irreplaceable. You are one of the VERY BEST things in my life. Someone that I cherish, adore, admire, and love beyond these silly words that I'm trying to explain with. My mind cannot translate the depth of love I have in my heart for you. I'm here for you, 100%, I will fight with you, hold your hand, make you laugh, and be a shoulder to cry on. Ollie, I love you.

Another Tag!

10 YEARS AGO: I was 17, a junior in High School, pimpin in the Prelude, just chillin' in good ol' EC

FIVE PLACES I HAVE VISITED:
1. Manhattan New York
2. Cancun Mexico
3. Puerto Vallarta Mexico
4. Thailand
5. California

FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST:
1. Get packed
2. Go to Lowe's for some house supplies (picking out grout is so fun!)
3. Make baby shower invitations for Steph's shower
4. Did I mention packing?
5. Kiss my husband when I see him

THREE BAD HABITS...
1. I bite my fingernails. YUCK
2. I throw my clothes on a chair in our bedroom instead of hanging them up
3. I leave glasses of water ALL OVER the house. I have been SO THIRSTY since I got pregnant! Geesh!

FIVE THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME...
1. I love watching movies.
2. I have a very soft heart and can cry at the drop of a hat. Especially if I'm the slightest bit upset or sad. I've always been a cryer.
3. I have to see Rome and Italy before I die
4. I love hot dogs. Yes, hot dogs. Costco has MASTERED the perfect dog. Well, it's only better if you're camping and can roast them over a fire.
5. I love, 100% adore, and cherish my husband. But you already knew that, he's just my favorite thing in the entire world.

I now tag: My blogger friends. YOU'RE IT!

Meet Molly!

Ok, so you might think we're crazy! But, this is Pokar's cousin Molly. Pokar is the ADORED dog of the Behling's who recently left us for a heavenly place. We were all so very sad. Hayden LOVES Australian Shepards and has wanted one of his own his entire life. When we got Lola she was perfect for us. Tiny, can live in an apartment, and doesn't shed. We love her more than we can explain and we're completly aware that we are crazy, obnoxious dog owners. But really, we just can't help but love her. So, when the farm became official (we closed yesterday!) Hayden started buzzing about Molly and really wanted to get her. She's 5 years old and has had several litters of pups. Her last litter was really hard on her and her owner is ready for her to go to a loving home where she can run and just be the adorable dog she is. That's where we come in. Molly will be joining us at the Behling Ranch when we move in June. We can't wait!

Man Tag.... You're It!

Man Tag! You're it! Copy all the questions and fill in your own answers!

1.How long have you been married? 3 Years 10 months
2.How long did you date? Oh heavens. Seriously not the questions to ask us. All together, about 4 months? But we've known each other for 22 years.
3.Who eats more sweets? Me for SURE! I am a sugar freak! Love it!
4.Who said I love you first? He did - most of you will be surprised to know this. But he really did. It was when we got together for the last time (when it really worked out!) and it was like the second time we hung out and he said "I really love you." I just thought he meant it as friends until he brought it up a few weeks later.
5.How old is he? 27 and so handsome
6.Who is taller? Me. He he. He had to stand on a 2 inch little box when we got our wedding pictures. Makes me laugh
7.Who is smarter? Depends. Book smarts- definitely him. Street smart- me for sure
8.Who can sing better? We are about the same. We can both carry a tune but lets not get carried away and try out for American Idol or anything.
9.Who does the laundry? We both do. He is so great at helping.
10.Who pays the bills? I do. It makes him crazy to handle our finances because we are so poor, so I just do it and its the best thing for our marriage. Out of sight, out of mind :)
11.Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do
12.Who mows the lawn? Yea, um, we've never owned a lawn. But it will be me this summer. He will mow (cut) hay and I'll mow the lawn.
13.Who cooks dinner? Me, unless Thai food is on the menu. He's such a good hubby and doesn't expect dinner at all, especially since we got pregnant, he's all good with a turkey sandwich.
14.Who drives? It's about 50/50. I have my dad's love of driving. And I like to be in control of the temp, music, and speed sometimes.
15.Who is more stubborn? It really depends on the subject matter. We've gotten really good and realizing what's really important and not dragging out our stubbornness
16.Who kissed who first? He kissed me. It was New Years Eve, the clock struck 12 and he just sat there as we watched his roommate kiss his girlfriend. Very odd. Then his roommate said "hey Hayden, why don't you ring in the New Year with a kiss!" I smiled and he bolted towards me like lighting, and ended up kissing my teeth because I was smiling. Odd first kiss... but he made up for it later that night :)
17.Who asked who out? We had actually stopped talking to each other for about 8 months. I started having all these weird dreams and talked to my sister about it. She said it was a sign that I needed to talk to him. So I called him with the intent of reading this nasty very strong worded letter about how bad he had broke my heart. So I called him, I read the letter, he said I love you. Go figure???
18.Who proposed? He did - at the top of Eva's hill overlooking Ferron and to a song called My Last Name by Dirks Bentley. Neither of us could see because we were crying so hard. It was AWESOME! Oh, and we were in the blue dodge, Hayden's high school truck which we packed full of memories in high school.
19.Who has more siblings? He does, by one.

OK, all my girl blogger friends... your IT!

The Kura Door

So my wonderful husband gave me a Gift Certificate from The Kura Door for my birthday. It was for a 60 minute Kura Massage and Spa Pedicure. Yes, I've gotten massages before, and enjoyed it very much. But let me just say, my eyes have been opened to a whole new realm of SPAOLOGY (my word for the world of spas).

Upon my arrival, I was greeted by name. Amazing customer service I thought. When you walk into The Kura Door your knees almost buckle from the smell of eucalyptus, lemon-grass, orange blossom, ginger, etc... I could have laid down right there on the hard wood floor and dozed off for my usual 30 minute evening cat nap. As I was escorted to the back of the spa I was offered a beverage and asked my shoe size for a pair of massaging sole sandals. I hadn't even been touched once and I was already impressed. I was given a cozy spa kimono to change into and was then escorted to a lovely waiting room. At first, it was a little odd for me to be naked under my kimono and sitting next to an older gentlemen wearing only the kimono as well. Yes, I know you can't see through the kimono, but, it was just a little odd for me. It wasn't long before I thought to myself "oh what the crap, I'm so relaxed I don't care." Sipping my lemon water my massage therapist came around the corner wearing a massive grin and introduced me to the vast array of massaging lotions which I got to pick. The flavor of the night for me was Lemon-Grass. My massage therapist was lovely. She was dainty and I'm sure my 6 foot figure is a little intimidating for someone so small. But she attacked those knots in my back like non before her. After the wonderful massage she invited me to enjoy their sauna. I was given another cozy towel wrap and stepped into a world of eucalyptus scented steam. AHHHHHHH. I only sat in the sauna for a mere 5 minutes in fear of hurting my little peanut. I got sick a little during the massage and sauna room but I will spare you the details.

So Takashi is my favorite restaurant and The Kura Door is my favorite spa. The Japanese are really onto something :). I highly recommend both to all my friends. And for any of you gentlemen out there reading this, send your wives to The Kura Door. She'll love you forever!
