Roo is in Town!

My sweet Roo (Raegan) came to stay with Ya Ya and Pop Pop while Kris, Tan, and the two oldest girls went to Disneyland. She is having a BLAST! It's been so fun to spend time with her! She is crawling like a maniac and is soooo close to walking! She can now say "Ya Ya!" I'm still working with her on "My favorite Aunt is Kelly!" It might take some practice:)

Ya Ya and Danzer! She's the hottest grandma in town!
The other night was Danzer's first adventure with rice cereal. Not such a fan. But he's getting used to it! It's so fun to feed him! Except when he gags, then I feel bad. Anyone have any good tips on how to make them like it better?

This last one is for Grandpa Tracy! We're teaching him young!
I can't wait to see all the pictures of my nieces trip to Disneyland. I will post a few of the favs!

I fed rice mush to Brookelle through a nifty little bottle first and it was really thin- then when she got 'used' to the taste she ate it off a spoon. Do you know the bottles I'm talking about?? They have a pusher at the bottom and when the baby sucks it moves up with the food. You can also use them for their first solids... I think I'm making NO sense :) email me if you want more info! Then I can send you a picture :)

Niether of my girls liked cereal. They both would gag...i dont know if it is a texture thing or what! I just skipped to baby food. They have the rice cereal baby food that is mixed with applesauce or oatmeal or whatever so i used those. It took bri a long time to even like babyfood!

Tyce did not like cereal at first, so we just waited a few months and add a little cereal with his baby food. Baby cereal is disgusting! I wouldn't eat it either. I got this cool little list of what foods helps their little mouths develop and it says to wait if they don't like it at first. It gives lots of good suggestions on hard munchables like frozen waffles, frozen melon strips, celery sticks, licorice to be introduced around 8 months the goal is exploration; NOT comsumption yet. It was not until that age that Tyce decided that he would eat from a spoon. Good luck! Not all babies are the same.

My boys liked it, Taylor not so much we have only tried twice. I mix juice or applesauce with it to make it taste a little better. Just keep trying he will get it.

P.S. I agree with Nicole, My Doctor said it is not to get them to eat just to get them used to the spoon.

Rice cereal...he's growing up too fast. Wasn't he born just yesterday? Anyway, I think cereal is an acquired taste. Maybe try the fruit flavored cereals (i think Gerber makes banana and apple?) Miss P was a fan of the banana variety. If he can have juice, maybe try adding that, like Mindy said. We did that a lot too.

How about darling Roo? She is too cute. Don't you think she looks a lot like your mom? I bet they are having fun.
